Ford F-150's Improved Engines Bring Unexpected Benefits

The 2018 Ford F-150 will make a lot of improvements to the already winning formula provided by the 2017 F-150. Key among them are a series of new and improved engine options that will add even more functionality to this excellent truck. And while some of these engine options will bring more power, a few will have the benefit of better fuel mileage.

The 2018 F-150's 3.3-liter V6 engine, for instance, will improve on the fuel economy of the 3.5-liter engine it's replacing, offering 19/22/25 MPG. It will also provide a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with 20/26/22 MPG.

While these don't put the F-150 on the same fuel efficiency level as many of the smaller cars, hybrids, and sedans on the market, they still provide an improvement over trucks from previous years.
