Can the Best-Selling Truck in America Beat Its Past Self in a Ford F-150 Face Off?

It's a blast from the past when a 1995 Ford F-150 XLT squares off against the brand new 2017 Ford F-150. But which will win?

It's easy to guess that in 20 years, Ford Motor Company has made significant advances in power and performance. The 1995 F-150 had 230 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, while the new model leaps over its predecessor with 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet torque.

However, which is better may not be such a cut-and-dry question, but a matter of preference.

The owner of the 1995 F-150 has lovingly maintained it, outfitting it with a lift kit for off-roading. Even the rough ride quality is a bonus in his eyes. "Don't get me wrong, a lot of people love the new 'rides like a Cadillac' type style," says Dylan Guiney, as his truck rumbles over muddy terrain. "Me, I want the truck feel."

If you crave an affordable older model, try browsing used cars in Martinsville. If you want the relative luxury and high-tech amenities of the latest vehicles off the production line, then Nelson Ford is here to provide, too.
